SO! The long weekend entailed the only shiteous weather weekend i’ve experienced this spring so far – OF COURSE! The only weekend including CAMPING outside! Oh well, the music was still AMAZING and it didn’t stop the many many many people who came!
Long story short – the first night was THE BEST! Why? Subfocus & Chase and Status…although Chase and Status seems to be a blurr…i quite clearly remember Subfocus cause i kept yelling at Scott “TAKE VIDEO TAKE VIDEO.” Friday was also awesome because there was less people and more room for JAMMING OUT! The last two Djs I saw were pretty awesome, one of two Scott claims to be called “DJ Virus” because it said on the teeshirt. Upon checking the lineup for that night there was no dj virus to be found.
Wait -HOWEVER – there is an ED RUSH (virus recordings) and it matches the times we were jamming! AH HA! hahahahah well they were good but the gig before: Noisia (vision recordings – NL) had me dancing BIGTIME!! I will be browsing their tracks this week to see which awesomeness I may stumble upon…yesssssss! Maaaaaaaaaan I wanna go back!

Throughout our journey and all that was friday and getting to the festival we ran into many characters who soon became our “leaders”
Leader #1: “Hey are you going here?” “Yes.” “Follow me.”
My first observation: he had dreads. cool!
Upon following him, my second observation: he had no shoes!
Leader #2: helped us find other things, like…The WC ?
First observation, the leader seems to have drunken too much “coffee.” Second observation, the leader had a mustache drawn on his face with eyeliner…something that might resemble:
What characters….I think this is what made the Festival the most exciting, the characters we meet on the way.
The second day was less of a harrrd partying day but more of a exploration day, filled with lots of red bull, lots of drinking, lots of walking from stage to stage, and lots of junk food! and more Canadians! the rest of the group arrived!

We were able to catch the some of main headliners: Deichkind some sort of electro german group – BUT VERY POPULAR! Once they went on, IT WAS PACKED. Actually Saturday Night the place was SO CROWDED it was ridiculous! There was no room for jamming, or walking around. It was literally shoulder to shoulder from stage to stage!

Like how would I explain it….It reminded me of that scene in batman and robin when they crash the glow n the dark hideout full of glow n the dark crazy mortocycle raver guys…
The Deichkind guys had this huge backdrop with YIPPIE YIPPIE YEAH! written on the back of it. Some of their stage tricks included wearing costumes with triangle hats that lit up in different array of colors. They would then dance around with the triangle hats. It was really weird, but the crowd was LOVING IT! Even singing the songs in deutsche along with them! We didn’t get any footage cause of how crowded it was…we could HARDLY see the stage no less. But here’s an example i got when googling YIPPIE YIPPIE YEAH!
We were just as confused seeing it live! They were VERY entertaining though! I now await some videos we took to be uploaded to youtube from the DnB friday niggggghhht!
