Soooo went with a few of my office mates yesterday to see Bruno! I thought it was funny. They could have done more about the fashion industry than gay humour, but it was still funny.Very offensive – but i mean COMMON take it for what it is…

Whats in store for us...

IAEA interns...
Fact: There are English movies in Vienna. When you buy tickets here you have to choose where you were going to sit before and it’s like going to the actual theatre.

the theatre.
in true intern fashion, we definitely made a little scene at the entrance…I tried to get a good flick of the guys BUT IT TURNED OUT BLURRY…they were too embarrassed to retake it another 3 times cause i kept screwing up…

vasssap!

vasssap?!
The general opinions of the movie…
Johnny: Can we leave now?
Me (the beginning of each scene, where you could just TELL what was going to happen): Oh no…Oh dear gawd.
Al: I can’t look, I can’t watch! (covering his eyes)
Angela: I’m ready to leave now.
Sarita: OMG! lol second level gay converter! bahahahha!
The guys were pretty much scarred. I was okay. After the movie we went to a nearby pub for a drink and discussed the movie. We debated how this movie affects the relationships between countries. I mean the fact that he told a terrorist leader that they should lose the beards and that osama looked like a dirty wizard might rub people the wrong way.
Surprisingly, the movie went over pretty well in Austria considering the many references to Hitler, however, they cut out many scenes that were previewed (i.e. Bruno making reference to the man who locked his daughter in a cellar).

The nearby bar even had Bruno coasters!

pokerface bruno.
On an aside note: yea people are offended by a talking penis – but i mean CMON how many times are women object to such parody in films? There has been sexist jokes towards women for decades, and objectification of the body. Yet, when we see male nudity and alternate forms of sexuality, its all of a sudden really scandalous – puhhhhleease!
Funny phrases that will stick with me for a while…
-VAssssssappp?
-Schartzlisted
-carbocide
-dirty wizard, homeless santa
and of course…Al ended the night with a sausage…how appropriate.

yummmmmerz. das is good ya!
but as they say when in Vienna EAT THE WURSTEL – ESPECIALLY the kaizerkraner…mmmmmm kaizerkraner.
Overall – I thought the movie could have been more clever, after seeing what he has done with the show, the talk show promotions of the film etc. it could have been so much more. The opportunity to expose what ignorance in the world is present was not taken advantage of to its fullest.
Either way it got me laughing
XOXO
Man the movie is friggin awesome. I feel sorry for people who felt very disgusted and couldn’t appreciate the humour behind it. Tho on the downside the plot was a bit weak. But who cares… hahaha
