Winter Wonderland in MQ

before the plastic winter wonderland BURNED DOWN in Museums Quartiers…it was funtimes!! I went sometime in November with Luana. Winter in Vienna is quite fun. It is customary to have outdoor venues where they serve gluwein and punsch! You have to pay extra for the mug which you can get your money back when you return it, OR you can keep it :)

Museums Quartier is a trendy hangout for artsy types and is really fun to hang for a nice low key night out! All winter season they have a program called Winter im MQ. I don’t know whats coming up, all i know is when we went it was beautiful, they really know how to create a winter atmosphere in vienna!

As you can see the little hut is made out of plastic…a few weeks later it burned down! My friend Mandy saw the aftermath, it turned into a huge mound of plastic with things sticking out! Winter im MQ still goes on…without the wonderland hut! <3

It is not winter until you officially have PUNSCH! they have many flavours berry, apple/orange, gluwein.

What is punsch? It’s like hot apple cider, but its alcoholic and comes in many flavours. Theres nothing like getting warm with it….Punsch is served almost in every corner now…it’s awesome!

and a few Weeks Back It was Luana’s Bday!!

So she threw a party! It was awesome….I love parties when there is a dance crew! There was also cake and funtimes….I especially like the fact that my lady gaga accessories from Halloween got some use. ahhhhh it was a lovely day indeed, and a great excuse to dress up.

I still Cannot believe Mandy’s last day is today :( She was such a great friend at the UN. Luana & Brian will continue to stay which is awesome cause they have gotten to be great friends too <3

CaraVision a.k.a. Caren Hood Classic!!!

I love how when I tell my Mom I’m going on a date and I won’t be home until tomorrow – this is fine.  It should be now though since I AM an adult. Very cool!!!

 HOWEVER – The fact I am NOT wearing a dress is the problematic issue apparently. I love getting stopped at the door when I’m about to leave the house for a hawt date and being told i should wear a dress! LOL I love my parents sometimes for being old fashioned!

So…alot of my office mates are getting the Swine Flu! I told my friend Ben who is better now to make a t-shirt that says: “I survived the Swine Flu”  or “KISS ME IM H1N1″

CaraVision seeing GAGA Vision!

Thanks to my friend Emma who made the dress, I had something very flamboyant to wear as I channeled my inner GAGA! I think the most fun about the costume was crafting a discostick and the hype up to Halloween.

Unfortunately, I was just toooooo Gagaraffic for the stuck up party we went to, no one could handle the spunk, the sparkles, disco stick, or funk!

In fact, if you stuck a rock where the sun don’t shine for 90% of the party attendees, you would get a whole lotta diamonds – tight asses.

ANYWAYS – preparty glitter times got a little outta control so much we had a purple glitter spillage explosion on the floor of Emma’s apt.

Wasted glitter? hellllllll no! why waste glitter? we hairsprayed my dress so it would stick then i attempted to roll in it, just in case I was glittery enough!

Halloween made me miss my crazy group of Canadian friends! Here it’s not so much a big deal. Carnevale (in February) is bigger here – like a week long crazy fiesta with full fledged costumes!!! So now I definitely know what i’ll be wearing this year for it ;) !! Can’t wait to channel my inner Gaga again!!

A Very Cara Halloween!

So its been a while since my last post, and well since the weather is getting grey over here in Vienna, so is the life. HOWEVER – still managed to russle up some great Halloween spirit with close friends <3

It all started with the search for pumpins at Nasche Markt:

 This was followed by sturm drinking….

What is Sturm? A young wine, tastes kind of like grapejuice. Whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK A LITRE in one sitting, it gives you a stomach ache like the kind you get when you eat too many grapes the night before….

Anyways, after purchasing 3 litres of sturm in the mark and our pumpkings, we all gathered at a friend’s house for Halloween PUMPKING CARVING!

Halloween was still a week away, HOWEVER we wanted to get in the spirit a little early by dressing silly, having a few drinks, laughing, and working on halloween crossword puzzles.

Someone asked me (knowing I am a HUGE crazed lady gaga fan, and that’s what I was going for halloween) are you going to make a lady gaga pumpkin too? It was a joke question, until I was like UMMM YES – that’s genius!

This girl is making me a dress! A lady gaga inspired dress I can debut halloween! I am soooooo stoked! We had a little creative session on the weekend! I REALLY Hope I can find the proper hair extensions, wigs, and accessories this weekend!

United Nations Smoking Crew…Its Saturday I’m in Love

I am so glad I have a smokers crew now to enjoy the lovely Marlboro Gold, Marlboro lights, Marlboro, and occasional Parisienne Jaunes with! As my office mate would say: “You know its the smokers who are the fun ones. At a party it’s always the smokers who are the crazy ones, the ones with the stories, the ones who want to drink. Its the non-smokers who are boring.”

I work with the web team, and as we say in the office mate

“If you don’t understand the Navigation, Go for Meditation” and go I do.

This meditation time is when we come up with many words of wisdom of life and at the UN.

The conclusion of he day was. I hate Tuesdays! they suck, they drag on the worst. Monday is application day. Wednesdays (aka humpday) are the best, (and are also prime for focus and getting work done days ) but they are the BEST because they are half way away from funny weekend memories and half way towards future weekend plans. Thursday is the new friday, friday is the new weekend. and Saturday i’m in love (cue in reference to 1990s here aka the cure)! Sunday is Raggaeton day….then it starts all over again.

Monday – application day. Tuesday gym day.

Wednesday – the best day (and the best day to get work done)

Thursday- the new friday. Friday? the new weekend

and saturday i’m in love!

Sunday, Funday! it’s raggaeton class. and REMIX

Some days when i’m sitting at my desk I can focus and get work done.

But other days things seem so stale and sterile – that it feels like a little bit of my  beautiful bright soul dies,

it feels like i’ve sold my soul to the bureaucracy.
